Seattle General Strike

The Seattle General strike, this was about five day span of almost no one is Seattle working. This strike was in the middle of WW1. The workers of many unions took strike on the same day, starting of Feb. 6, 1919 and ending Feb. 11, 1919. The workers wanted more pay, they wanted this because they have bean working for two long years with low pay and where tiered of it.

The timing the workers chose could not be worse for the companies with the military contracts. This was bad for the companies but this was a huge advantage for employees because the companies needed to make the parts (whatever that part/ product might be) for the war. this meant that the companies needed to give the higher wages fast that way they could meet their quota. The people of Seattle where not happy with the companies comeback wadges and kept arguing for more money. This went on for about a week, the unions demanding more and the corporations stating they cant because they wont turn a profit.

Eventually on February 11, 1998 the two came together and decided on a fair price for both. an advantage for the workers came with the timing of the strike, in the middle of a war where needs where high, and quota had to be met, for the army, navy, military, air force or whoever there contract was made with. The timing for the corporations could not of been worse because of the demand from the war, because of this the corporations needed to come to a settlement fast.
